Itinerary
Derawan Island Escape
A four-day tropical journey combining island transfers, marine exploration, turtle habitat, the unique Kakaban jellyfish lake and relaxed beach time on Derawan Island.
Arrival – Berau – Tanjung Batu – Derawan Island
Arrive at Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan and continue with your connecting domestic flight to Berau. Upon arrival at Kalimarau Airport, your driver will meet you and assist with the onward transfer.
Travel by private car for approximately 2.5 hours to Tanjung Batu, followed by a speedboat transfer to Derawan Island. On arrival, check in at the arranged island accommodation and settle into the relaxed atmosphere of Derawan.
Derawan – Sangalaki – Kakaban
After breakfast, depart by boat for Sangalaki Island, known for its marine conservation environment and as an important habitat for green and hawksbill turtles. Explore the island and enjoy the surrounding marine environment before continuing to Kakaban.
Discover Kakaban’s distinctive brackish-water lake, surrounded by tropical forest and home to jellyfish with greatly reduced stinging ability. Return by boat to Derawan Island in the afternoon and enjoy the evening at your accommodation.
