From Bali to the Heart of Java
Begin your journey in Bali and travel towards Gilimanuk before crossing the Bali Strait to East Java. From Banyuwangi, continue through Java's dramatic volcanic landscapes towards Ijen, Bromo and Tumpak Sewu.
The journey gradually transitions from East Java's mountains and volcanoes to the cultural landscapes of Central Java, concluding in Yogyakarta. Travelling privately provides greater flexibility along the route and a more personal way to experience Java.

Itinerary

A private overland journey from Bali to Yogyakarta, combining Ijen Crater, Mount Bromo, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall and the cultural heritage of Yogyakarta.
From Bali to the Ijen Highlands
Begin your private journey with a morning pick-up from your accommodation in Bali. Travel towards Gilimanuk Harbour and cross the Bali Strait by ferry to Ketapang Harbour in East Java.
After arriving in Ketapang, continue by private vehicle towards the Ijen area. Check in to your accommodation and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure before the early-morning Ijen experience.

Ijen Crater & Journey to Bromo
Start in the early hours with a transfer towards the Ijen trekking area. Begin the trek with your local guide towards Ijen Crater and enjoy the dramatic volcanic landscape.
Under suitable volcanic and safety conditions, there may be an opportunity to witness the Blue Fire phenomenon before sunrise. Continue towards the crater rim and enjoy views of the turquoise volcanic lake as daylight emerges.
After the trek, return for breakfast and check out. Continue by private vehicle towards the Bromo area, arriving later in the day. Check in and rest in preparation for the following morning's Bromo sunrise.

Bromo Sunrise & Tumpak Sewu
Depart in the early morning by 4WD jeep towards the Bromo sunrise viewpoint. Watch the first light illuminate Mount Bromo, Mount Batok and the surrounding Tengger volcanic landscape.
Continue across the Sea of Sand and visit the Bromo crater. After the Bromo experience, return to the accommodation for breakfast and prepare for the next stage of the journey.
Around 10:00, continue by private vehicle towards Tumpak Sewu. The journey takes approximately two hours. Explore the spectacular waterfall and surrounding viewpoints before continuing directly to Malang for check-in and overnight stay.
