Orang Utan & Mangrove Day Trip

A full-day private journey from Balikpapan combining orangutan
conservation, rainforest trekking and a mangrove boat experience.

Balikpapan → Samboja → Wain Forest → Mangrove

Early morning pick-up from your hotel or designated location in
Balikpapan at approximately 06:30. Travel by private vehicle towards
Samboja Lodge, approximately 1.5 hours from Balikpapan.

Upon arrival at Samboja Lodge, visit the orangutan programme and
experience the scheduled feeding time at approximately 08:00.
Continue to the Sun Bear Sanctuary and the lodge's information
facilities to learn more about wildlife conservation work in Borneo.

Return to Samboja Lodge for an Indonesian buffet lunch before
continuing the journey into the Wain River Protection Forest.

Enjoy a short rainforest trek of approximately 1.5 hours, exploring
the primary rainforest environment and learning about the surrounding
ecosystem with your guide.

Continue to the Mangrove Center for a boat trip through the mangrove
forest. Keep watch for wild proboscis monkeys and other wildlife that
may be encountered along the waterways.

After the mangrove excursion, return to Balikpapan. Tour ends upon
arrival.
