A Birdwatcher's Journey
The forests and wetlands provide opportunities to look for a variety of tropical bird species, including kingfishers, hornbills, flycatchers, sunbirds and owls. Wildlife sightings are naturally dependent on season, weather and animal activity.
Active & Close to Nature
Expect early starts, jungle walking, canoe and boat transfers, basic camping conditions and time outdoors. This is an active wildlife journey rather than a conventional sightseeing tour.
Remote Wildlife Conditions
Accommodation and facilities are simple in parts of the journey, including non-air-conditioned island accommodation and camping. Comfortable outdoor clothing, suitable walking shoes, insect protection and a readiness for changing weather conditions are recommended.

Itinerary
Birds Watching & Jungle Trekking
Three days of birdwatching, jungle trekking, river exploration and island wildlife in Ujung Kulon National Park.
Mount Honje & Jungle Exploration
Depart from Jakarta and travel towards the Ujung Kulon area. Continue to Mount Honje and begin exploring the surrounding forest with your local guide.
Spend time birdwatching and looking for wildlife along the forest trails. As the day progresses, continue with an evening or night birdwatching session before resting for the night.
River Journey & Island Wildlife
Continue the expedition towards the Cigenter River. Board a canoe and explore the river surrounded by tropical forest while looking for birds and other wildlife.
Continue by boat towards Peucang Island and settle into the island accommodation. The afternoon is dedicated to wildlife observation and exploring the natural surroundings.
Depending on local conditions and the programme, enjoy time around the island for swimming, snorkeling or further nature observation.
Coastal & Forest Birdwatching
Continue to the Cidaon area for further birdwatching and nature observation. Explore the transition between forest and coastal environments before returning to Peucang Island.
Final Wildlife Morning & Return
Enjoy the final morning on Peucang Island and take the opportunity for additional wildlife observation before preparing for the return journey.
Travel back towards the mainland and continue to Carita before beginning the overland journey back to Jakarta.
Arrival in Jakarta
Arrive back in Jakarta and conclude the three-day wildlife and jungle trekking experience.
