Three Days of Volcanic Adventure
Your journey begins by crossing from Bali to East Java before continuing towards Banyuwangi and the Ijen highlands. The first night is designed around the early-morning Ijen experience, so travellers should be prepared for an active and early start.
After Ijen, continue towards the Bromo area for one of Indonesia's most iconic sunrise experiences. The journey then continues towards Lumajang to discover Tumpak Sewu, one of East Java's most impressive waterfalls, before finishing in Malang.

Crossing to East Java & Ijen Highlands
Meet your fellow travellers and trip team at the designated meeting point in Bali before continuing towards Gilimanuk and crossing the Bali Strait by ferry to Ketapang in East Java.
Continue by shared vehicle towards Banyuwangi and the Ijen highlands. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery from Bali's northern coast to the plantations and mountain landscapes of East Java.
Arrive at your accommodation in the Ijen area, check in and rest early in preparation for the midnight trekking experience.

Ijen Crater Experience & Transfer to Bromo
Start around midnight for the guided trek towards Ijen Crater. Depending on weather, volcanic activity and local regulations, there may be an opportunity to experience the famous Blue Fire phenomenon before sunrise.
Continue towards the crater rim to enjoy the dramatic volcanic landscape and turquoise crater lake as daylight arrives. After descending, return to the base area for breakfast and a short rest.
Continue by shared vehicle towards the Bromo area, travelling through changing highland scenery and local villages. Arrive, check in and rest early for the following morning's sunrise experience.

Bromo Sunrise, Tumpak Sewu & Malang
Wake early and travel by 4WD jeep to the Bromo sunrise viewpoint. Watch the first light spread across the Tengger Caldera, with Mount Bromo and the surrounding volcanic landscape forming the backdrop.
Continue into the sea of sand and towards Mount Bromo crater for a closer look at the volcanic landscape. After the Bromo experience, return for breakfast before continuing towards Lumajang.
Visit Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, one of East Java's most spectacular natural attractions. Enjoy the viewpoint and surrounding scenery before continuing the journey towards Malang. Arrive in Malang and conclude the open trip. End of services.
