Itinerary
Bandung & Pangandaran Journey
A 5-day journey from the highlands of Bandung to the southern coast of West Java, combining volcanic landscapes, tea plantations, traditional Sundanese culture, village experiences and coastal adventure at a relaxed pace.
Tangkuban Perahu, Ciater & Bandung
Meet your guide and begin your journey into the northern highlands of Bandung. Visit Tangkuban Perahu, one of West Java's most iconic volcanoes, and explore its dramatic crater landscape. Continue to a tea plantation to learn about local tea cultivation before relaxing at the natural hot springs of Ciater. In the afternoon, visit a local floating market before returning to your hotel in Bandung.
Kawah Putih & Ciwidey Highlands
Travel south into the cool Ciwidey highlands, passing rural landscapes, plantations and mountain scenery. Visit Kawah Putih, the spectacular volcanic crater lake of Mount Patuha. Continue through the Rancabali tea plantations and enjoy the peaceful highland surroundings before visiting Situ Patenggang, a scenic volcanic lake surrounded by forest and tea plantations. Return to Bandung in the afternoon.
Scenic West Java & Kampung Naga
Check out after breakfast and begin the overland journey towards Pangandaran. Travel through the changing landscapes of West Java, from mountain countryside and rice fields to the southern coast. Along the way, visit Kampung Naga, a traditional Sundanese village located in a green valley near the Ciwulan River. Discover its distinctive architecture, agricultural traditions and traditional way of life before continuing to Pangandaran for check-in.
Village Life, Body Rafting & Green Canyon
Explore the countryside around Pangandaran and experience aspects of local village life. Visit a small-scale producer to discover how traditional crackers are made, followed by an introduction to the production of palm sugar. Continue to Green Valley for a guided body rafting experience through the tropical river landscape. Afterwards, take a local boat into the spectacular Green Canyon, passing through a narrow gorge surrounded by limestone cliffs and dense vegetation. Return to Pangandaran after the adventure.
Coastal Morning & Departure
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxed final morning in Pangandaran. Depending on your onward travel arrangements, continue by private vehicle towards your next destination, with possible onward routes including Wonosobo, Magelang or Yogyakarta. Your Bandung & Pangandaran journey ends with your departure from Pangandaran.
A Journey from Highlands to Coast
This itinerary combines mountain landscapes, volcanic scenery, cultural encounters, village visits and active river experiences. Some activities are weather and water-level dependent and may be adjusted according to local conditions. Travel times can also vary depending on traffic and road conditions.
