Two Volcanoes in Two Days
The journey begins with Mount Bromo, where an early-morning jeep ride takes you to one of East Java's most spectacular sunrise viewpoints. Continue across the Sea of Sand and towards the Bromo crater before travelling east towards the Ijen highlands.
The adventure continues with a late-night trek to Ijen Crater. Under suitable conditions, you may have the opportunity to witness the rare Blue Fire phenomenon before sunrise and enjoy the turquoise crater lake as daylight arrives.
Shared Adventure, Limited Time
This open trip is designed for travellers who want to experience Bromo and Ijen without arranging a private journey. Shared transportation, local guides and selected activities create an efficient way to explore two of East Java's most famous volcanoes within a short travel window.
East Java Starting Points
Depending on the selected departure, travellers may join the journey from selected locations in East Java. The confirmed meeting point, departure time and final drop-off location will be provided before departure.
An Intense East Java Adventure
This is a physically demanding journey involving very early departures, late-night travel, volcanic trekking and long-distance transfers. A reasonable to good level of physical fitness is recommended. Travellers should be prepared for limited sleep and an intensive travel schedule.
The Blue Fire experience is subject to volcanic activity, weather, safety regulations and local conditions. The itinerary may be adjusted accordingly.

Itinerary
Bromo & Ijen Open Trip
A compact two-day volcanic journey from Malang to Bali, combining the spectacular Bromo sunrise, Bromo crater and Ijen Crater in an intensive small-group adventure.
Bromo Sunrise & Journey to Ijen
The adventure begins around midnight with pick-up from your accommodation in Malang. Travel through the night towards the Bromo area, with the journey itself forming part of this intensive volcanic adventure.
Arrive at the Bromo Jeep Station, where you can take a short break, use the toilet and enjoy coffee or simple refreshments before continuing by 4WD jeep into the Bromo area.
Continue to the sunrise viewpoint to witness the spectacular Tengger volcanic landscape. After sunrise, travel across the Sea of Sand and continue to the Bromo crater. The crater can be reached on foot, with horse riding available as an optional activity at your own expense.
After completing the Bromo experience, return to the Jeep Station and continue the overland journey towards Banyuwangi and the Ijen area. Arrive at Kampoeng Joglo Ijen for check-in and rest before the early-morning Ijen excursion.

Ijen Crater & Crossing to Bali
Depart during the night from Kampoeng Joglo Ijen and continue towards the Ijen area. Begin the trek with a local guide towards Ijen Crater.
Under suitable volcanic and safety conditions, there may be an opportunity to witness the Blue Fire phenomenon before sunrise. Continue towards the crater rim as daylight arrives and enjoy views of the turquoise volcanic lake.
Return to the vehicle after the trek and continue back to Kampoeng Joglo Ijen for breakfast and check-out.
Continue to Ketapang Harbour and board the public ferry across the Bali Strait to Gilimanuk Harbour, where the open trip ends.

Accommodations
Accommodation & Bromo Meeting Point
This compact volcanic adventure includes one overnight stay in the Ijen area. The journey from Malang begins around midnight, with the first part of the adventure taking place on the road before the Bromo experience.
Meeting Point & Rest Stop
After travelling from Malang during the night, the group arrives at the Bromo Jeep Station. This is the meeting point for the 4WD jeep experience and provides a convenient place to take a short break before continuing into the Bromo area.
Toilets and simple refreshments such as coffee are available at the station. After the short rest, travellers continue by 4WD jeep towards the Bromo sunrise viewpoint and volcanic landscape.
Kampoeng Joglo Ijen
The included overnight accommodation is at Kampoeng Joglo Ijen in the Ijen area. The stay provides a place to rest before the early-morning Ijen experience and breakfast after the excursion, subject to the property's operating schedule.
An Intensive Overnight Journey
Please note that the first night is spent travelling from Malang by vehicle. There is no overnight hotel stay in the Bromo area. The only included overnight accommodation is Kampoeng Joglo Ijen. The itinerary is designed for active travellers comfortable with late-night travel, early departures and limited sleeping time.
