Day Trip Historical Jakarta is a full day trip for you to get more experience of Indonesia’s history. Jakarta is the capital city of Indonesia. However, Jakarta is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Southeast Asia. Established in the fourth century as Sunda Kelapa, the city became an important trading port for the Sunda Kingdom. At one time, it was the de facto capital of the Dutch East Indies, when it was known as Batavia.

Sunda Kelapa – Kota Tua – National Museum – Monument National
After breakfast you will meet and greet with our representative, then start the trip with a visit at Sunda Kelapa, a historic port located in the northern part of Jakarta. The name “Sunda Kelapa” means “coconut of Sunda,” referring to the Sunda Kingdom, which was an ancient kingdom that once existed in West Java. However, the port was named after this kingdom. Because it was an important trading port for goods from the Sunda Kingdom and other parts of Java.
The trip will continue to Museum Fatahillah, also known as the Jakarta History Museum, and is located in the Old Town (Kota Tua). However, the building has a distinctive Dutch colonial architecture, with a red brick facade and a central tower. The museum houses a collection of artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of Jakarta’s history, from the pre-colonial era to the present day.
After visiting museum Fatahillah, you will go to Museum Wayang, the museum’s collection includes thousands of wayang puppets, and other traditional Indonesian masks and costumes. It also displays various types of wayang puppets, such as wayang kulit (shadow puppetry) and wayang golek (rod puppetry).
Next, we will continue the trip with a visit at the National Monument of Jakarta, also known as “Monas”. It is a landmark monument located in the heart of Jakarta. Monas is a towering obelisk that stands at a height of 132 meters (433 feet). The monument is made of marble and bronze, and is topped by a golden flame, which represents the spirit of the Indonesian people.
Afterwards, you will go to the National Museum, one of the largest and oldest museums in Indonesia. Because the collections are more than 140.000 objects, ranging from prehistorical artifacts to modern art. So, the exhibits cover a wide range of topics, including archaeology, anthropology, geology, biology and history.
After enjoying the tour, you will go back to your accommodation.
